The most important thing is people - if you don't have guests you don't have an event!
Make sure the event you want to hold will work in your venue.
Be clear about what you want to get out of the event, and what you want your guests to experience.
Here are a few things to think about:
Season and style
- How do you envisage the event - formal, informal; is it food to impress; is there some theme?
Consider the season - you'll want lighter food in the summer, more hot food in the winter.
Format and scale
- Decide what courses you want - for example just finger food, or canapes followed by a buffet.
Decide if the food is effectively a full meal or something lighter.
You'll need some idea of the number of people you'll have and of your budget.
Wines
- We've found that most of our clients prefer to select and provide their own wine.
Describe the event to your favourite wine merchant and see (and taste!) what they suggest!
We can help you choose and provide your wines, as well as serving it the day if you want.
Service with a smile
- Do you want us to provide staff to hand around canapes and serve the main dishes, or
would you rather provide your own staff or perhaps tame relations or friends to do this?
Do you want us to clear up afterwards?
Constraints
- Will you need to cater for any/many vegetarians, nut or fish allergies etc?
Let us know beforehand about the kitchen facilities and size (we will probably want to visit),
how long beforehand we can start work, and any other constraints.
Budget
- Fabulous Food prides itself on providing excellent quality at an affordable price.
There isn't a standard price list because every event is carefully tailored, but as a guide
for 30-50 people where we provide ten to twelve items of finger food
per person and buffet desserts - a full meal - the cost would be about £15-£22 per head (depending mainly on staff),
or £25-£35 per head for a dinner party for 10.
