Buffet
If you are having a buffet, you need to make some initial decisions:
  • Starters: While you can have a separate buffet starter, you'll often do better with canapes or finger food as a more exciting start to the event.
  • Hot dishes: These have to keep warm for some time. Stew type dishes improve with cooking longer are are popular. Note also that a domestic kitchen may not be adequate for a large hot buffet.
  • Knives: Unless everyone has a chair it is best to select food that does not need knives - just a fork, so you can eat while standing (even if you have to put your wine down!)
  • Selection: it is best to provide a small number of dishes for a buffet - people will often take something of everything and too many items will just look a mess.

We've listed a few favourites, talk to us about other options, seasonal choices, good combinations, etc.
